About Ian
Ian Healy was a long-time member of the Australian Cricket team, missing just one Test between 1988 and 1999. Ian’s total of 395 dismissals, 366 catches and 29 stumpings, is a Test cricket record.
Ian is one of 11 Australians to play more than 100 Tests. His total of 199 matches is the highest by any wicketkeeper in world cricket. Since his retirement, Ian has occupied himself with business interests and celebrity appearances but is perhaps best known as a commentator on Channel Nine.
Ian is a mainstay of Nine’s cricket broadcasting as his voice continues to be heard through each Australian summer. Ian’s business interests include his retail chain; Greg Chappell Cricket Centre, and ‘Hoppys’, his full-service carwashes.
The Ian Healy Foundation was set up by Ian and has made significant contributions to Save the Children, Prevent Blindness, Retina Australia and The Skin Cancer Awareness Study.
