About Adrian
Born in Canberra, Adrian Barich began his sporting career at age 7 playing rugby union. He would later represent his state in national carnivals. At age 16 he switched to Australian Rules football and won a Premiership with the Manuka Football Club the following year.
In 1983, at the age of 20, he left for Perth and was signed by Perth Football Club while a student at the University of Western Australia. Over the course of his 160 games with the club he would play in five finals, win a best and fairest award, captain the club (1993 and 1994) and be awarded life membership. In 1994 he was voted Footballer of the Year by the W.A. Media Guild.
Adrian was selected as an inaugural member of the West Coast Eagles Football Club in 1987. He would play 47 games and 1 final for the Eagles before retiring in 1992. Adrian represented Western Australia in State of Origin football three times, once as captain, and twice with New South Wales. His career spanned 14 years and a total of 289 games.
Following retirement Adrian has forged a successful media career as part of Channel Seven Perth’s broadcast team and writing for The West Australian for several years. He also co-hosts the daily Sports Central program on Radio 6PR.
Adrian is a lively and entertaining speaker and MC who is perfectly suited to corporate, sporting and educational events.
