Brett Ogle played all sports as a child; hockey, rugby, rugby league, table tennis and had success on the athletics field becoming a state champion. Brett discovered golf at the age of 12, and one year later his long time coach David Merriman arrived at his course to be the head pro. Brett took a mere 16 months to reduce his handicap from 32 to 1 and it was then he knew he had found a sport that could make him a living.
Brett Ogle turned pro at the age of 21 and won his first major tournament 3 years later. Since then he has enjoyed 13 worldwide victories, none better than his come from behind win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Tournament in 1993.
Brett Ogle returned to tournament golf at the Ford South Australian Open in November 1999. He now competes full time on the Australian PGA Tour. Brett decided at the end of 2001 to take a break from tournament golf.
He is now involved with Channel 7 and Foxtel and is also a director of Southern Cross Sports Marketing and heavily involved with the corporate golf events of the company. Brett Ogle also enjoys public speaking and MC’ing.
