Lawrence Mooney is one of Australia’s most fearless, intelligent and enduring stand-up comedians. With a career spanning more than three decades, Lawrence has built a reputation for sharp social commentary, incisive wit and an uncompromising comedic voice.

A veteran of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Lawrence has performed numerous critically acclaimed solo shows, including Pigeonhole, The Obnoxious Observer, Monkeyboy, Spoon, Embracing Your Limitations and Beauty. His work has earned him multiple festival nominations and awards, cementing his status as one of the country’s most respected live performers.

Lawrence is also a familiar face on Australian television. He is widely known for his long-running role as Judge Lawrence Mooney on Australia’s Got Talent, as well as appearances on The Project, Spicks & Specks, The Glass House, Dirty Laundry Live, Thank God You’re Here and Have You Been Paying Attention?

As a writer and performer, Lawrence has created and starred in acclaimed programs such as The Unbelievers (ABC Radio), Black Comedy (ABC TV) and The Mooney Goes Wild Show. His acting credits include Upper Middle Bogan, Drunk History, Fisk, Frayed and The Dressmaker.

Lawrence is also a highly regarded broadcaster, with his popular podcast The Mooney Show showcasing his trademark intelligence, curiosity and unapologetic humour.
