About Susanne
Susanne Haydon is a senior organisational consultant with an extensive background in safety scenarios and community engagement. In her work, Susanne leads and directs strategy and business planning through high-level liaison with industry, government agencies, unions and community stakeholders.
Most recently, she has been working with Queensland Transport’s road safety strategy team developing the 2004-2011 Queensland Road Safety Strategy. Her role in this project is to develop a road user safety planning framework which contributes to giving people maximum personal mobility without economic or social discrimination, industry efficient goods movement and government opportunities for economic growth, competitiveness and regional development.
In all her work, Susanne applies a consultative approach to the planning process. In her community engagement activities, Susanne demonstrates communication and relationship building at the highest levels. She works with enthusiasm to influence and develop partnerships with key agencies and the community to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of business planning implementation. In 2003, Susanne has conducted focus groups and forums around Queensland including Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Roma, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton, Mt Isa, Cairns and Townville. Her knowledge and experience in community issues and concerns is extensive and current.
Susanne Haydon enjoys a well-earned reputation as a leader in safety issues. In 2002, she was invited to give the keynote address at the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia Queensland Division Conference, on Riding the Wave to Sustainability She also made a keynote presentation on fleet safety at the Queensland TravelSafe Conference. In February 2000, Susanne was invited to give a keynote address at the Royal Society of Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) annual conference in the UK.
