About Ryan
Ryan Fitzgerald is a former AFL star, award winning breakfast announcer, national television host, reporter and star of several advertising campaigns. ‘Fitzy’ is part of a wave of new generation personalities.
Ryan made a splash as a contestant on Big brother in 2004. This lovable, funny and likeable larrikin caught the eye of the media including DMG radio. He joined Nova Adelaide as part of the breakfast team ‘Fitzy Jules & Lisa’ and at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards won the best newcomer award.
A former player with the Sydney Swans and Adelaide Crows football clubs, Ryan is no stranger to talking footy. Fitzy’s television debut was on Channel Ten’s popular AFL program Before the Game, serving as a hilarious roving reporter until the show’s demise in 2013. Ryan also co-hosted Friday Night Live every Friday as part of the Big Brother series.
After years devoted to his radio work, his show ‘Fitzy and Wippa’ was awarded the most prized radio spot as the Nova National Drive team. Ryan is a regular contributor to the highly popular 7pm Project and has led major advertising campaigns for Subway, Pura Choc Milk and Jetstar.
