About Kerry
Kerry O’Keeffe, affectionately known as Skull, is a former Test cricketer and larger than life character who is known for his wit, wisdom and penchant for sport. With an often wicked but always quick sense of humour and knowledge of all things sport he won a spot as a regular guest on ABC TV’s The Fat.
After a number of careers following his retirement from cricket, Kerry had a very successful career as a commentator on ABC Radio and occasionally with the Nine Network. Known for his distinctive laugh and hilarious anecdotes, many of which are best told at after dinner speeches in cricket clubs, he thrived when working with overseas commentators such as Indian Harsha Bhogle who was often the victim of Kerry’s colourful Australian jargon.
Kerry’s insightful comments into the game demonstrated an extensive knowledge of the game and career at the highest level. He was always abreast of statistics and the history of the game. In 2004 Kerry’s autobiography; ‘According to Skull’ was released. He subsequently released a series of CDs containing exerts of his antics in the commentary box.
Kerry is now one of the most popular members of the Foxsport cricket team.
