About Glenn
Glenn Archer is a former professional Australian Football great, playing his entire career with the North Melbourne Kangaroos Football Club. Known as perhaps the most courageous the game as seen, he won the Robert Rose award for most courageous player six times between 1998 and 2006. He was awarded with All-Australian selection three times and represented Victoria in State of Origin competition.
A fearless defender with an unquestionable playing record, he intimidated opposition and inspired his team mates. He played key roles in North Melbourne’s 1996 and 1999 premierships. He was awarded the Norm Smith medal for his best on ground performance in the 1996 Grand Final, defending the game’s most prolific all-time goal kicker Tony Lockett.
A footballer’s footballer, brave and tough and selfless, Glenn is recognised as the “shinboner of the century”. He is also a member of the Kangaroos team of the century and has played the second most number of games for the club.
Off field Glenn has attended countless selfless charity events and is known for his roles in community service activities and as an ambassador for World Vision. Glenn is a Director of Stride Management; supporting and mentoring young players. He was a regular Footy Show panelist and Herald-Sun columnist.
Glenn’s on and off-field successes have made him a highly sought after motivational speaker with numerous guest appearances for corporate and community events.
