About Brent
Brent “Boomer” Harvey – retired at the end of the 2016 AFL season along with a host of other North Melbourne players. He ended his AFL career as the all-time games record holder with 432 games.
At only 167cm he had a reputation as an ultra-competitive, quick player who was able to run out games strongly. Harvey was part of the Northern Knights’ premiership side in his draft year of 1995. It was a side which saw no less than 11 players go on to AFL clubs.
The diminutive teenager, also represented Vic Metro at the Under 18 National Championships. Even before being drafted, Harvey already had a reputation as an ultra-competitive player who was able to run out games strongly.
Harvey was adjudged best on ground in the Knights’ Grand Final victory, receiving the TAC Medal for his efforts. North Melbourne would go on to draft him with pick 47 in the 1995 National Draft.
His stories from his playing days are hilarious. Brent is a great addition to any function.
