For almost 30 years, Anthony Maroon has been better known to his radio audience as just “Maroon”. Like so many who go on to great success in today’s media world, Maroon cut his teeth in the regional media markets. This saw him start his career at Radio 2NZ Inverell and enjoy a stint at 2GN Goulburn before diversifying his skills by taking up an opportunity to work in television with WIN TV Wollongong.
Since then, Maroon has established himself as one of Sydney’s most popular and well-known radio personalities. Maroon has been on air with Sydney’s home of modern rock and NRL, Triple M Sydney for the past 15 years and has won several radio awards as both a presenter and commentator.
As well as hosting one of the station’s highest rated radio shows, Maroon has also compered a range of events across a broad category of audiences such as NRL presentations, V8 Supercars functions, Sydney Cricket Ground events, charity fundraisers and everything in between.
Beyond sporting functions, Maroon has also lent his voice and enduring stage presence to charity, automotive and corporate events with clients including the Westfield Group, Suttons Motors Group, St Vincent de Paul Society and a host of registered clubs.
