‘Alan Thomas acted as our MC at The Carbine Club of Queensland Magic Millions Lunch attended by around 440 members and guests. The feedback was overwhelmingly favourable for the job that Alan had done for us that day from our members and their guests. He had spent hours the day before talking with the special guest Cory Brown (Melbourne Cup winning Jockey and champion international rider) and Lem Bann (Strapper for the legendary Tulloch). These interviews were some of the best in our club’s history.
The day was well run as a result of the planning and knowledge that Alan possesses. We will be using Allan again next year and he was so well received that he was invited to MC our CCQ NSW lunch in Sydney attended by 750 members and guests (Not Bad for a Queenslander).
Alan also did some interviews for our Race day in March this year. He knows a lot of people in racing and without a lot of notice was able to line up 4 interviews with a trainer and 3 owners involved on the day with Starters in the sponsored Carbine Club race. He also convinced one of our members to be interviewed whilst his horse was running live in a race in Melbourne. It was a great interview and quite comical as the horse ran unplaced even though it was expected to win. He made the owner feel good and the crowd laugh with his comment – Why would you want to own a horse in fact find someone you don’t like and gift a race horse to them.
‘I would like to say that Alan Thomas was an outstanding choice for our sportsman’s dinner in September. Alan was very funny and his interaction with the audience was fantastic. Alan was very easy to work with and gave his time generously
His knowledge of both racing and boxing was extremely factual and interesting. I would have no hesitation in recommending Alan for any function again.’
