Nick Daicos is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for the Collingwood Football Club in the AFL. Born on January 3, 2003, he is the son of Collingwood legend Peter Daicos and the younger brother of teammate Josh Daicos. Nick was drafted by Collingwood with pick No. 4 in the 2021 AFL Draft under the father–son rule.
Daicos made an immediate impact in his debut season in 2022, earning the AFL Rising Star award and the AFLPA Best First Year Player honor. He continued to excel in subsequent seasons, contributing to Collingwood’s 2023 premiership win and earning All-Australian selections in 2023 and 2024. In 2024, he won the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award and secured his first Copeland Trophy as Collingwood’s best and fairest player.
Known for his elite ball use, vision, and composure, Daicos has been a key figure in Collingwood’s midfield. In 2024, he finished second in the Brownlow Medal count with a record-breaking 38 votes. He also set club records, including surpassing Nathan Buckley’s clearance record and becoming the fastest player in V/AFL history to record 30 disposals against all 17 other clubs.
