About Allan
South African cricketer and sports speaker Allan Lamb has been involved in the world of cricket for some forty years; working as both a player, professional cricket speaker and TV pundit.
Born in South Africa to British parents Lamb loved and played cricket from a young age, however, due to the racist and segregation of apartheid in his native South Africa Lamb immigrated to the UK so that he could compete in international cricket matches.
Since retiring in 1995 Lamb has established himself as one of the most popular cricket speakers working both at live sports speaker events and on television productions, and probably most well-known for his work with Sky Sports.
Alongside working as a cricket speaker Allan Lamb has released an autobiography that details his time as a professional cricket player for England: the Silence of the Lamb. He has turned the talents acquired as both a cricket fan and cricket speaker to working as an analyst for Channel 5’s sports broadcasts and often appears as a guest at specialist cricket events.
Outside his work as a sports speaker Lamb has teamed up with fellow ex-England cricketer Ian Botham to lend their likenesses to English Standard Beef and Lamb for advertising caricatures “Beefy” and “Lamby”.
